Erdenes Tavantolgoi receives Afnor Group certificate on occupational safety system

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Mongolia Philippe Merlin has handed over a certification verifying the unified management system introduced by the ‘Erdenes-Tavantolgoi’ JSC (ETT).
Afnor Group, French national organization for standardization, has verified the ISO 45001: 2018 Occupational Health and Safety management, being implemented by the ‘Erdenes-Tavantolgoi’ JSC, becoming the first Mongolian company to have its works evaluated by an international organization. During the event to present the certification, 12 employees of the ETT also received certificates of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems registered by the Afnor Group.
Paving the way for trading of stakes of the Tavantolgoi coal deposits on domestic and international stock exchanges, the ETT, as a holder of special licenses, have been implementing ISO 9001: 2015 Quality management, ISO 45001: 2018 Occupational Health and Safety management and ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental management standards in states. “Erdenes-Tavantolgoi” JSC’s Director of business management Batsaikhan Bekhbaatar said that the company’s introduction of unified management system is a part of its efforts to develop sustainable and responsible mining industry that ensures environment-friendly and occupational health and safety.
