Best fine art works of 2019 on display at National Art Gallery

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 7, Mongolian National Art Gallery launched an exhibition ‘Best Fine Art Work 2019’ with the purpose of awarding the best fine art works of this year and enriching the state art treasury. 


The selection of this year’s exhibition has been organized in two stages, with the first stage of receiving artworks from September 19 until October 3 and the second stage selecting from the submitted works to display at the annual exhibition. 


In the first stage, the National Art Gallery has received 177 works of paintings, sculpture, Mongolian traditional paintings, leather and line drawing from a total of 135 artists and 124 works of them by 98 artists were selected to put on public view at the exhibition.


The second stage will continue with a professional council appointed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports selecting the best of the artworks exhibited and purchasing them for the state art treasury. The best artworks and artists will be announced on October 18 during an award ceremony to be held at the National Art Gallery.


The exhibition ‘Best Artworks of 2019’ runs at the National Art Gallery in Ulaanbaatar until October 31.
