Intern’l academic conference “Bogd Khan-150: History, culture and heritage” to be held

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. International academic conference 'Bogd Khan-150: History, culture, and heritage' will be held on October 11, tomorrow at the Parliament House. A wide range of presentations and discussions will be held in the course of the conference regarding Mongolian history of the early 20th century and government decisions and policies of that time relating to internal and foreign affairs, defense and religion. Bogd Khan and other political figures, archives dates back to the early 20th century will also be the topics of the conference.


The academic conference features presentations of 30 scholars including over 10 prominent Mongolists from China, Japan, Germany, Russia, Hungary, Poland, and other countries. In particular, Mongolist researchers Nakami Tatsuo and Tachibana Makoto from Japan, Udo Barkmann from Germany, S.L.Kuzmin and L.N.Krainova from Russia, Christina Teleky from Hungary, Carolina Zygmanovska from Poland etc. are going to take part in the conference as well as Mongolian researchers of Mongolian Academy of Science’s Institutes of International Studies, Philosophy, Language and Literature, moreover, representatives from National University of Mongolia, Mongolian National University of Education, National Defense University, Mongolian University of Arts and Culture, Gandantegchinlen Monastery and Bogd Khan Palace Museum.


The academic conference “Bogd Khan-150: History, culture and heritage” to be held for two days on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of VIII Bogd Jebtsundamba Khutagt is being co-organized by Office of the President of Mongolia, Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, The Academy of Sciences, Institute of International Studies, Institute of History and Archaeology, Institute of Philosophy, Institute of Language and Literature and Bogd Khan Palace Museum.


The President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga issued a decree to announce the 150th birth anniversary of Bogd Khaan to be celebrated nationwide. In the framework of this decree, a series of activities have been organized such as opening an exhibition, publishing books and documents, etc.
