Open discussion held on Ulaanbaatar city budget for 2020

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On November 20, an open discussion on Ulaanbaatar city budget for 2020 was organized at the Citizen Hall of the Capital City’s Governor’s Office. As states in the Law on Budget to include proposals and suggestions from its residents when drafting local budgets, the open discussion brought together more than 400 citizens, 40 of them expressed their opinion during the event.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ulaanbaatar city Mayor S.Amarsaikhan delivered a presentation on the 2020 budget bill of the Ulaanbaatar city, major development works planned in the capital city next year and preliminary performance of the Ulaanbaatar city budget for 2019.
According to the Mayor, the budget draft of Ulaanbaatar city projects basic revenue at MNT 894.1 billion and basic expenditure at 338.1 billion. Revenue to be accumulated to the state budget from Ulaanbaatar city will be 319.4 billion as reflected in the recently-approved state budget for 2020. Creation of conditions of science-based manufacturing industry, drawing of additional foreign investment, intensification of public-private partnership, support for human development and employment and income growth are defined as the main directions for economic and social development in 2020.
“Developments of building new settlement areas, satellite cities and sub-centers, air and environment pollution reduction activities, measures to increase of green areas, protect the environment and nature, improve public transportation services will be enhanced next year”.
The proposals submitted by the citizens will be compiled and analyzed to reflect in the Ulaanbaatar city Budget of 2020.
