1658 lives saved this year

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. As of first eleven months of this year, 4681 disastrous occurrence have been recorded. As a result, 202 people died, 139 injured and 26134 livestock died, causing loss of  MNT 48.7 billion.  77 percent of the dead are men aged 36-64. Children (up to 17) make up 16 percent of the dead in the result of household fire (47 percent) and water accident (31 percent).


29448 people and 5643 equipment of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other organizations saved the lives of 1658 people and protected property worth MNT 59.1 billion.

MNT 1.1 billion was spent from NEMA and local budget for disaster prevention and elimination of consequences this year.


Compared with the same period of previous year, number of saved people increased by 711 or 75 percent, protected property value increased by MNT 19.1 billion or 48 percent.


594 rescuers and 137 equipment worked on 80 calls of traffic accident and saved the lives of 104 and transferred 55 bodies to the police.
