Ambassador S.Sukhbold addresses UN Security Council debatePolitics
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. S.Sukhbold, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations took part the United Nations Security Council ministerial-level open debate on the topic of ‘Maintenance of international peace and security upholding the UN Charter’ held on January 9-10, expressing the position of Government of Mongolia.
In his remarks at the debate, Ambassador S.Sukhbold called on upholding the UN Charter and international law while mentioning the peace and security challenges facing the world today, including conflicts, poverty, terrorism and climate change.
He further noted all members of the United Nations shall refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the purposes of the United Nations and called them for settling any disputes through peaceful means and talks.
