2020 Parliamentary elections to take place in 29 constituencies

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On January 30. The Parliament convened to approve a resolution to determine electoral constituencies, mandates and territorial divisions for the upcoming Parliamentary elections.
The 2020 parliamentary elections will be held in 29 constituencies across the country, with 20 constituencies in 21 aimags and 9 constituencies in capital city Ulaanbaatar, depending on the population, administrative and territorial division, territory size and density.
The resolution states that Dundgobi and Gobisumber aimags are to be integrated as one electoral constituency and the remaining 19 aimags as one electoral district each.
In Ulaanbaatar city, Bagakhangai, Baganuur and Nalaikh districts together were redrawn as one constituency, Bayanzurkh and Songinokhairkhan districts as two constituencies each (several khoroos of each of Bayanzurkh and Songinokhairkhan districts are joined together as one constituency each) and Bayangol, Sukhbaatar, Chingeltei and Khan-Uul districts as separate constituencies each.
In terms of electoral mandates for each constituency, Bulgan, Gobi-Altai, Dundgobi-Gobisumber, Dornod, Dornogobi, Zavkhan, Umnugobi and Sukhbaatar will have two mandates each, and Arkhangai, Bayan-Ulgii, Bayankhongor, Uvurkhangai, Selenge, Tuv, Uvs, Khovd and Khuvsgul, Khentii, Darkhan-Uul and Orkhon will be granted with three mandates each.
As of the capital city, two mandates are allocated to Bagakhangai, Baganuur and Nalaikh districts, three mandates each to Bayangol, Sukhbaatar, Chingeltei and Khan-Uul districts.
The most number of mandates or 5 mandates are given to each Bayanzurkh and Songinokhairkhan districts, as the two new constituencies of the districts, consisted of its khoroos will have two and three mandates respectively.
