Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Representatives from the culture and tourism industries of Mongolia donated some medical supplies to China due to coronavirus outbreak. The donation was handed over to the Embassy of China in Ulaanbaatar this week.
The donation was organized by a group of Mongolians working in the fields of media and tourism, who traveled to Tibet, China in 2019.
Single-use medical supplies worth USD 3 thousand, including 2 thousand gloves and 3 thousand face masks were collected from other countries, as Mongolia itself has been struggling with a shortage of face masks.
The donation will be delivered to a border checkpoint of Inner Mongolia, China.
President of Mongolian Tourism Association D.Gantumur said during the handing over event “In addition to the official assistance pledged by the Mongolian government to China, ordinary citizens have collected medical assistance to help China, our long-standing friend, to stop the spread of coronavirus. We believe this assistance will become useful for border officials working at the border checkpoint of China.”
