Hay and salt licks provided for wild animals

Khovd /MONTSAME/ Bayan Bumbatai cooperative designed for natural
resource management of Darvi soum of Khovd aimag biannually prepares food for
wild animals. It has recently taken the initiative to place hay and blocks of
salt along ridges with the purpose of protecting the wildlife.
In accordance with the Bayan Bumbatai’s management plan
aimed at environmental and wildlife protection, the cooperative members left 20
sacks of hay and a total of 500 kg salt blocks around Shar Bulag hill range and
a place called Maikhan Tsakhir in Darvi soum’s Mungun Ayaga bag.
One of the four natural resource management-oriented
cooperatives currently operating in Darvi soum, Bayan Bumbatai, comprises of
78 members from 24 herder families.
