Health ministry briefing attended by German Ambassador and WHO Emergency medical team

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Today’s daily briefing
by the Ministry of Health on the situation surrounding the coronavirus outbreak
has been attended by Jörn Rosenberg, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of
Germany to Mongolia, Dr Sergey Diorditsa, the World Health Organization (WHO) Representative
to Mongolia and WHO Emergency medical team (EMT) working in Mongolia.
After informing about
the health cooperation between Mongolia and Germany, expanded by regular
training for health professionals and German assistance to improve the health
sector of Mongolia, Ambassador Jörn Rosenberg assured that Germany will
continue its commitment to provide support to Mongolia.
Hauke Florian, Head of
the WHO EMT team working in the country between March 2 and 11 to provide technical
support on infection prevention and control measures, congratulated the Mongolian
government for its successful efforts and measures to prevent entry and spread
of the coronavirus in the country.
He also praised that health
facilities are well prepared to properly handle possible coronavirus infection
in the country. The EMT team recommended prevention and response measures for health
facilities and health professionals if the novel coronavirus makes its way to
Mongolia. Advice on disinfection of public places and health facilities and
proper use of personal protective equipment were also provided by the WHO EMT
team.
