Mining companies and organizations donate MNT 174 million to coronavirus efforts

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On February 17, companies operating in the mineral industry of Mongolia launched a fund-raising campaign to help the efforts to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
The campaign is joined by more than 20 companies, including Mineral Resource Authority, Ministry of Mining, Erdenes Mongol LLC, Erdenes Oyu Tolgoi LLC, Oyu Tolgoi LLC, Monrostsvertmet, Erdenes Alt Resource LLC, Shivee Ovoo, Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi Mining and so forth. Employees of these companies have raised a total of around 174 million within the campaign.
Yesterday, March 19, Minister of Mining D.Sumiyabazar and representatives of mineral companies handed over the donation of MNT 100 million to the State Emergency Commission and MNT 55 million to the Ministry of Health.
The companies of the mineral industry also donated MNT 19 million to the government-initiated fund-raising campaign “Emotional Support to Eternal Neighbor” to help China combat with the pandemic.
