Ger area redevelopment project to cover five subdistricts of Khan-Uul
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The capital city council decided to allocate 416.5 hectares of land for the
new city center in Niseh, Yarmag area, the southwest of Ulaanbaatar.
During its virtual regular meeting, Ulaanbaatar city
council discussed where to implement the Yarmag subproject of the Ger area
redevelopment project and the council members agreed to allocate 268 hectares
of land in 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and
8th subdistricts of Khan-Uul district for the subproject. It is
planned to build low-rise apartment blocks and medium-rise apartment buildings
with amenities. Under the project, 40.2 thousand citizens will be provided with
accommodation, 7,680 children with school, and 2,880 children with
kindergarten, and a 770-bed hospital will be built.
In the ‘Amendment to the Ulaanbaatar City Urban Development
Master Plan 2020’ and ‘Development Directions 2030’, Ulaanbaatar, the capital of
Mongolia, is planned to be developed with 47 microdistricts, six subcenters,
and two city centers to ease over-concentration, increase
affordable housing, and reduce environmental pollution.
