Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At a regular meeting of the Cabinet on April 29:


 - The Cabinet approved a list of consumer food products to be exempt from customs and value added tax until June 30, 2020. The list includes wheat, all types of grains, 10 types of vegetable oil, and sugar.


- The Cabinet members reviewed a six-section report on the country’s economic outlook ahead of the 2020 parliamentary election. The report goes over the implementation and outcomes of the Extended Fund Facility, Government's 2019 debt management strategy, contingent liability estimates and purpose and the expenditures and possible resources of the rainy day fund. The Cabinet authorized the Finance Minister to submit the report to the Parliament in accordance with the Budget Law. 


- The Cabinet approved the location for exploration and exploitation of widely distributed minerals necessary for the construction of a 126.7 km asphalt road between Bayankhongor and Altai. The resolution orders legal entities building the road to rehabilitate the land area used for mineral exploitation in compliance with relevant standards after the road construction is completed.


 - The Cabinet appointed Bayarmagnai Myagmarsuren as Deputy Head of the Cabinet Secretariat in light of his work experience and skills. He served as director of the foreign relations department of the cabinet secretariat, economist at the Trade and Development Bank of Mongolia, department director at the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, and chairman of boards of directors at the Ministries of Energy and Environment and Tourism.       


- The Cabinet supported the Foreign Ministry’s proposals to appoint Badral Tuvshin, current Head of the National Emergency Management Agency as an Ambassador of Mongolia to the People’s Republic of China after recalling Ambassador to China Gankhuyag Damba whose term has expired, and to appoint Erdenetuya Namsrai, Chargé d'Affaires at the Mongolian Embassy in the Republic of Korea as an Ambassador of Mongolia to the Republic of Korea and submit the proposals to the President of Mongolia. The Cabinet also removed State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs D.Davaasuren from office at the regular meeting. Davaasure was appointed as the Secretary of State at the Foreign Minister in September 2016.
