Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ U.S. Embassy officials led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Mongolia Michael S. Klecheski worked in Darkhan city, Darkhan Uul-aimag, on May 22 to promote cultural and educational cooperation between Mongolia and the U.S.

After having meetings with the aimag’s governor S.Nasanbat and local council chair G.Erdenebat, the U.S. Ambassador visited Darkhan-Uul Local Authority for Family, Child and Youth Development and got acquainted with its activities.

Head of the local authority A.Amgalan and U.S. Embassy Ulaanbaatar's Public Affairs Officer Robert Tate signed a Memorandum of Understanding to open a U.S. cultural and information center in Darkhan city in November with assistance from the U.S. side.

The center will provide the locals with information on everything to know about the United States, English language courses, library and internet cafe services, and U.S. university admission consulting services free of charge and hold public events regularly.
