Regular parliamentary election campaign to end today

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The election campaign of the candidates for the 2020 Parliamentary Election will end today at 11:59 p.m.
In the parliamentary election, 485 candidates from 13
parties and four coalitions and 137 independent candidates are running. The
candidates started campaigning on June 2, the day they received the candidacy
cards from the General Election Commission.
Article 39.1 of the Law on Parliamentary Elections states,
“Election campaign shall begin on the day the candidacy card is issued to candidates
and stop 24 hours before the voting day or 00:00 of the preceding day of the
voting day.”
Therefore, candidates must stop distributing leaflets, newspapers and magazines, remove their billboards, and shut their official websites, registered at the GEC and Communications Regulatory Commission of Mongolia, after 11:59 pm today.
