Construction Minister checks progress of development projects

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Construction and Urban Development B.Munkhbaatar, Deputy Minister of Construction and Urban Development E.Zolboo, and other officials of the construction ministry on July 21 met with the implementing units of the Nogoon Nuur project and Ulaanbaatar Urban Services and Ger Areas Development Investment Program and checked the progress of development works.


Under the Nogoon Nuur project, eight 21-floor apartment blocks for 1,008 households, school for 960 students, and a kindergarten for 240 children will be built in the 9th subdistrict of Sukhbaatar district with CNY 350 million aid from the People’s Republic of China. The Mongolian side is in charge of the construction site clearance as well as the project's designing and infrastructure development phases.



According to the project coordinator L.Ganbaatar, the construction site has been cleared and the staff dormitory and office are ready. Also, Minister B.Munkhbaatar noted that the project implementing company will soon be selected.


The Construction Minister and Deputy Minister also visited the Bayankhoshuu and Selbe Subcenters being developed by the Ulaanbaatar city government with funding from the Government of Mongolia, Asian Development Bank, and European Investment Bank under the Ulaanbaatar Urban Services and Ger Areas Development Investment Program. The first phase of the program is currently 81.64 percent  complete and the second phase is 18.25 percent complete.
