FIFA grants USD 500,000 to support development of women’s football in Mongolia
SportsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has granted USD 500,000 or MNT 1.4 billion to support women’s football in Mongolia
“It is my pleasure to inform a great news that favorable conditions have been created to back activities of football clubs thanks to a grant of USD 500,000 from the FIFA to its member associations with the aim of supporting the development of women’s football amid COVID-19 pandemic,” said Kh.Azjargal, Vice President of the Mongolian Football Federation.
A total of 11 teams have submitted requests to participate in women’s national football league tournament this year and two of the teams are from Uvurkhangai and Khovd aimags.
Out of the monetary assistance provided by the FIFA, MNT 5 million will be distributed to each 11 clubs taking part in the women’s premier league alongside donations of two-shift football uniforms and five pieces of ball.
“We also plan to make contract with coaches working with women’s teams to give monthly salary of up to MNT 500,000 for a year as well as to back up all member organizations and clubs collaborating with girls and women of all ages and to organize numerous events such as grassroots, training, seminars and workshops,” she added.
