Total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Mongolia at 312

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Over the past weekend, one new COVID-19 case was confirmed after 1,749 tests were done between September 18-20. The new case was detected from a 50-year old freight driver – Russian, who entered the country on September 17 through Altanbulag border point with Russia in Selenge aimag. 


As of today, the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mongolia reached 312. Out of them, 302 COVID-19 people have recovered and 10 patients are being treated at the National Center for Communicable Diseases in Ulaanbaatar. Among the 302 recoveries, 281 people have already returned to normal life and 13 people are under compulsory home isolation following their recoveries. 


All 312 cases are ‘imported’ or detected from people who returned from abroad and were put under mandatory isolation upon arrival. 


The Ministry of Health is providing updates on the latest situation of COVID-19 three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On Sunday, September 21, the Ministry of Health reported that a total of 64,396 coronavirus tests have been conducted nationwide until today and a total of 3,895 people are staying under 21-day mandatory isolation after arriving from foreign countries.
