Hydropower specialists to be trained in Japan

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Energy N.Tavinbekh met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Kobayashi Hiroyuki.


At the beginning of the meeting, the Japanese Ambassador congratulated Minister N.Tavinbekh on his appointment, while noting that friendly relations and partnership between the two countries have been expanding since 1990 and that the Japanese side has been providing assistance in optimization of the Ulaanbaatar Thermal Power Plant No.4.


The sides exchanged views on connecting the new airport in Khushigt Valley to electricity and implementing projects to build solar and wind farms.


Minister N.Tavinbekh proposed cooperating in hydropower plant development and implementation of energy source extension projects. In turn, Ambassador Kobayashi Hiroyuki said it is possible to train specialists in hydropower in Japan.
