30-day fuel consumption to be stockpiled for 2021

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. At its today’s meeting, the cabinet set the amount of fuel reserves to be stockpiled by 24 petroleum companies for 2021. The 24 fuel retailers will have to hold a fuel reserve equal to 30 days of average domestic consumption, which totals about 120,350 tons. 


As for this year, 22 companies are storing stockpiles of at least 133,000 tons of fuel, including, 6,000 tons of A-80 gasoline, 42,000 tons of AI-92, 80,700 tons of diesel fuel, 4,300 tons of TS-1 jet fuel. 


Fuel import of Mongolia between August 2019 and August 2020, which was estimated to be around 1,443,809 tons, is shown a decrease by 12.8 percent compared to the same period of previous years due to COVID-19 pandemic.
