Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. One of the measures being taken by the Government of Mongolia on decreasing deaths caused by cardiovascular diseases, which is reflected in the Sustainable Development Vision 2030 of Mongolia, is the construction of the National Cardiac Center building. In its framework, the center’s architectural design made with financing of non-refundable aid from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg was presented during a meeting held at the Ministry of Health on October 20. Deputy Minister of Health Sh.Ankhmaa and corresponding officials of the ministry, the State Central Third Hospital, and the National Cardiac Center participated in the meeting.

Alongside being reflected in the ‘Vision-2050’ long-term policy, ‘Sustainable Development Vision 2030’, and the government action program for 2020-2024, the Deputy Minister highlighted that the Cabinet has included the construction project in the list of necessary large scale projects, which shows the great support being provided by the Ministry of Health and the Government.

Able to withstand a 8.0 magnitude earthquake, the eight-story building of the center will have a total built up area of 15,079 sq.m, with 427 rooms. The center is planned to have 4 cardiac surgery operating rooms (1 hybrid operating room), 4 cath-labs (1 electrophysiology room), and 100 hospitalization beds as well as departments for diagnosis and rehabilitation.
