4 new COVID-19 cases detected, total imported cases reach 356

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Director of the National Center for Communicable Diseases D.Nyamkhuu reported that 4 new cases of COVID-19 detected in Mongolia after 1,068 tests carried out in the past two days.


In specific, 2 Belarusian freight drivers entered Mongolia through Altanbulag border checkpoint, a man who arrived on a charter flight from India and a nurse who was serving to the patients undergoing COVID-19 treatment at the NCCD tested positive for the virus.


“The team in responsible of giving treatment and serving to the infected patients switch shifts after 14 days of working at the hospital. After completion, they are placed into 14-day isolation. As for the nurse, the virus was detected prior to the completion of the shift. Now the whole team is under monitoring” says D.Nyamkhuu.


Mongolia now has 357 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 356 are imported.
