COVID-19: 57 new cases detected

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Today, 57 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Mongolia after testing 4134 people nationwide on December 22.


Of the cases, 55 were from the hospital-related outbreak in the Bayanzurkh district of Ulaanbaatar city. One person was diagnosed with coronavirus in Selenge aimag on his/her repeated test while one doctor at the Military Central Hospital was infected with the coronavirus.


A total of 131 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection has been registered in the cluster of Central Hospital of Bayanzurkh district. As numerous people have been infected with the virus in a very short period of time, responsive measures are being taken immediately. All these 55 people, who were under isolation, were confirmed by repeated tests, highlighted Head of the Surveillance Department of the National Center for Communicable Diseases A.Ambaselmaa during the press briefing of the Ministry of Health.


No new infections were recorded in Darkhan-Uul, Orkhon, Gobisumber and Arkhangai aimag in the last 24 hours. As of today, total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mongolia has reached 1063, with 541 recoveries.


Furthermore, 82 people have recovered and are being transferred today to the 300-bed hospital in Yarmag. Currently, 513 people are receiving treatment and one of them is in very critical, 6 in critical, 40 are in serious and 466 are in mild health condition.
