Water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities upgraded in Gobi-Altai aimag

Gobi-Altai /MONTSAME/ In 2020, the United Nations Children’s Fund and the Korea International Cooperation Agency provided assistance of MNT 1 billion to Gobi-Altai aimag.
With the funding support, climate resilient, energy efficient, innovative water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities were introduced in the aimag. Specifically, to improve water supply, facilities with portable tanks and smart technologies were introduced and upgrades were made in Darvi, Altai, Tugrug, Yesunbulag, and Sharga soums of the aimag. Upgrades were made at bathhouses in Jargalan, Erdene, and Bugat soums and sanitation facilities in Tsogt, Bayan-Uul, Central Hospital’s children’s ward, Maral Altai primary health care facility, Yesonbulag’s kindergarten No. 4, Khantaishir-Erdem school and other educational and health care facilities. Sanitation facilities were newly built in other soums as well.
Moreover, the Governor’s Office of Gobi-Altai aimag reports that, with MNT 250 million funding support, an alteration center was renovated in Tonkhil soum and distance learning and teleconferencing equipment were provided to all soums, and wastewater treatment systems were upgraded in some soums.
