New ImageCast voting machines to be used for 2021 presidential election

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On January 20, 2021, the Parliament of Mongolia – State Great Khural approved a resolution on the use of voting equipment during the 2021 presidential elections. 


The resolution states to use “New ImageCast” voting machine for voting and vote counting for the upcoming president’s election, scheduled on June 9, 2021, Wednesday. 


The voting machines had been in use since 2012 for a total of 9 elections of various levels. Ballot recount will be conducted on up to 50 percent all ballots in the election in compliance with corresponding law.
