Deputy Mining Minister meets his Indian counterpart online

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Minister of Mining and Heavy
Industry O.Batnairamdal had a virtual meeting with Tarun Kapoor, Secretary,
Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Republic of India.
Underscoring that the meeting follows the 7th meeting of
the Mongolia-India Joint Committee for Cooperation held online last December
and the January 2021 meeting of former Chief of Cabinet Secretariat
L.Oyun-Erdene, Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry G.Yondon, and Indian
Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan, Mr. Tarun Kapoor expressed
his appreciation that the bill on Supporting the Oil Refinery was passed by the
Parliament on January 29 and that the Mongolian Government and Ministry of
Mining and Heavy industry are attaching great significance to the refinery
project.
Deputy Minister O.Batnairamdal said the oil refinery
project has entered the development stage following the planning stage and that
the approval of the law makes it possible to speed up the development of the oil
refinery and open it within the scheduled time frame. The Deputy Minister also
asked India to provide support in carrying out a detailed feasibility study of constructing pipeline and announcing an international open tender to
select contractors
for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and to work actively with
Mongolia to select general contractors for EPC 2 and 3.
