Foreign Minister meets Indian Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Mongolia Mohinder Pratap Singh on February 9.

 

They had discussions about further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries and expanding cooperation during the pandemic. Specifically, the sides agreed that the COVID-19 vaccines, the Government of India has resolved to supply to Mongolia will be brought into the country in the near future.

 

It was also agreed to speed up the oil refinery project being implemented with a USD 1.2 billion soft loan from the Indian Government as well as the talks on the export of coking coal from Mongolia to India.     

 

The Foreign Minister and the Ambassador also discussed the progress of joint projects and programs including the development of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Center for Excellence in Information Technology and Outsourcing in Ulaanbaatar, India-Mongolia Friendship School, and the Cyber Security Training Center.

 

Minister B.Battsetseg underlined that Mongolia and India have been actively supporting each other on the international stage and confirmed the country’s readiness to expand cooperation with its strategic partner, India, through international organizations and at regional level.
