Finance Minister virtually meets Vice President of World Bank East Asia, Pacific Region

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On March 9, Minister of Finance B.Javkhlan had a virtual meeting with Ms. Victoria Kwakwa, Vice President Of The East Asia and Pacific Region of the World Bank.

 

During the meeting, the parties discussed about the 30th anniversary of the bilateral relations, reviewed the valuable contribution in social and economic development through successful implementation of numerous projects and activities in the past, and both sides expressed their appreciation of the existing consistent and reliable cooperation. 


Along briefing the current vaccination process in Mongolia, the Finance Minister introduced the MNT 10 trillion comprehensive plan in detail to the World Bank representatives and underlined his belief to the World Bank’s continuous cooperation in implementing strategically important mega projects and activities. 


Mr. Javkhlan mentioned the possibility to have a further discussion on the potential projects during the upcoming World Bank Spring meeting.  


Ms. Kwakwa highlighted that compared to other countries, actions taken by the Mongolian Government to protect the health sector and to recover the economy are swift and rational, and that these actions are important impetus in mitigating the adverse effects of the pandemic and to recover the economy. 


While complementing the several vaccine options being available in Mongolia, the Vice President extended commitment to continue its support on acceleration of the vaccination campaign.
