Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia Immigration Agency has today
announced that Russian nationals are allowed to return home through Altanbulag road border crossing point and Buyant-Ukhaa air
border crossing point without permission from the State Emergency Commission, provided that they have both their passport and visa.
The Agency suggests Russian nationals planning to
return home through Buyant-Ukhaa border checkpoint to contact airlines for flight
information.
Chinese nationals may submit their requests to return home
to the Embassy of China in Mongolia and seek further information.
Nationals of other countries have to wait for a response
from the airlines they booked with.
Foreign nationals crossing the border must have a valid
visa in the appropriate class or be deregistered. According to the Mongolia
Immigration Agency, foreign nationals may acquire an ‘exit-entry’ visa or get
deregistered at the Immigration Agency’s unit at a border crossing point,
provided that they have a letter from their inviter and all of their official
travel documents.
The national vaccination program is underway in Mongolia, where international traffic except freight has been restricted since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Government of Mongolia is working towards the objective of opening the border from May 1.
