Deputy Mining Minister holds online meeting with EBRD Lead Economist

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Minister of Mining and Heavy
Industry O.Batnairamdal had a virtual meeting with Eric Livny, Regional Lead
Economist, Central Asia at European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
and other specialists.
Deputy Minister O.Batnairamdal presented the goals and plans of the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry, major mining development plans in the government’s Action Program for 2020-2024, top mining exports of Mongolia, and answered to the specialists' questions.
The Deputy Minister also expressed an interest in studying the
expertise of countries with abundant natural resources in efficient use of mining revenues, especially Kazakhstan’s, and had discussions on the characteristics
of the Sovereign Wealth Fund and ways to efficiently spend mining profits on
infrastructure.
