Foreign Minister meets Head of UNFPA Mongolia Country Office

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg had a meeting with Kaori Ishikawa, Head of Office for Mongolia Country Office of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) on March 26.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister B.Battsetseg thanked the organization for its support and cooperation in the government’s COVID-19 response measures and efforts. The Minister underscored that UNFPA has amended its action plan to cope with demands caused by the pandemic, implemented necessary projects and programs, and worked effectively at all levels, undertaking to further support the agency’s activities.
Ms. Kaori Ishikawa outlined UNFPA programs on sexual and reproductive health, family planning, and obstetric care and maternal health and expressed readiness to cooperate in the implementation of the recommendations of the third national report on the human rights situation in the country. The UNFPA Head of Office also undertook to continue cooperation in addressing issues of human rights, gender equality, and gender based violence.
