Khomyn Tal’s first foal of 2021 born

Zavkhan /MONTSAME/ A mare named Carmen in the herd of a stallion named Yus gave birth to the first Przewalski’s horse (Takhi) foal of 2021 in Khomyn Tal on April 25. The mare Carmen was among the first Przewalski’s horses brought from Le Villaret, France, while Yus was born in Khomyn Tal.
Twelve Takhis were first reintroduced to Khomyn Tal in Durvuljin soum of Zavkhan aimag from France in 2004, followed by 10 more in 2005, and four from Czech in 2011. The Takhi population in Khomyn Tal reached 100 in July, 2020.
