Best participants of ‘Script of the Eternal Sky-2020’ awarded

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On May 13, President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga presented awards to the best participants of the ‘Script of the Eternal Sky-2020’ calligraphy exhibition.


The annual calligraphy exhibition organized at the initiative of the President on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Chinggis Khaan, the Day of National Pride, was postponed in 2020 due to pandemic restrictions. 


‘Prayers for peaceful time or Janlavtsogzol’ sutra written in the Soyombo script, horizontal square script, and Mongolian script by Ts.Munkh-Erdene, ‘The Treasury of Great Chinggis Khaan’ by Unenchbaatar, a participant from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China, and ‘Oyuntulkhuur’ (Key to Mind) by M.Tsenguun, G.Oyunsuren, and B.Zesmaa were selected as this year’s top works. 


As for high school students, 12th grader of School No: 2 G.Oyun-Erdene won the first place with her work, ‘The Secret History of the Mongols’. While ‘Erdeniin San’ by 11th grader of ‘Aviyas’ Complex School of Khuvsgul aimag Ts.Purevsuren and ‘Khuduu Taliin Uzesgelen’ by 12th grader of School No: 12 of Dornod aimag B.Khongorzul were selected for second place, the works of three students were selected for third place - ‘The Mongolian Language’ by 12th grader of ‘Titem’ complex school of Khuvsgul aimag B.Khuslen-Erdene, ‘Chinggis Khaan Bilig Surgaal’ by 11th grader of School No: 24 B.Nandinkhand, and ‘The Secret History of the Mongols’ by 12th grader of the School of Tarialan soum, Khuvsgul aimag I.Maralgoo. 


After presenting the awards, the President said in his remarks, “The Mongolian script is a proud heritage for all Mongolians. Being fond of learning the Mongolian script and fully immersing yourself in the heritage, all of you are doing a noble deed by preserving and protecting our valuable cultural heritage and promoting our national pride.

 

Organized annually at the initiative of the President of Mongolia, the ‘Script of the Eternal Sky’ calligraphy exhibition has become a greatly anticipated event for all those involved in the field. Postponed due to the pandemic situation last year, the exhibition has been presented on information boards in public spaces throughout Ulaanbaatar on the occasion of the National Language and Script Day, decorating the capital city with our national cultural heritage.” 


In connection with the National Language and Script Day being marked in May, the Office of the President is presenting the ‘Script of the Eternal Sky-2020’ exhibition on digital screens at bus stops and public spaces from May 12 to May 25.
