Medalists of Olympics and world championships to receive grants

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At its regular meeting on July 7, the Cabinet approved a draft resolution on grants to be given to athletes and coaches in 2021. The resolution entitles 58 athletes who won medals in nine events at Olympics, Paralympics, and world championships to monthly grants totaling MNT 132 million and athletes who won bronze at Youth World Boxing Championships and new chess grandmasters and their coaches to one-time grants totaling MNT 104 million. 

 

The 58 athletes who won three gold, seven silver and 13 bronze medals from Olympics and Paralympics and 15 gold, 22 silver, and 42 bronze medals from world championships were given grants of over MNT 11 billion between 2013 and 2020 and 4,411 athletes and coaches one-time grants of over MNT 7 billion between 2015 and 2020. 

 

The cabinet authorized Minister of Labor and Social Protection A.Ariunzaya to allocate around MNT 230 million from her budget to give grants to 43 athletes with disabilities who won gold, silver and bronze medals at Olympics, Paralympics, Deaflympics, Special Olympics, and continental and world championships.
