Mongolia receives 117,000 doses of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines

/MONTSAME/. Mongolia received 117,000 doses of Pfizer/BioNTech (BNT162)
vaccines on August 11.
More specifically, the
purchase of 2.5 million doses of Pfizer/Biontech vaccines are being supplied in
the framework of the ‘COVID-19 pandemic and
Public Health Emergency Capacity Building Project’
being implemented in Mongolia through the United Nations Children’s
Fund (UNICEF) with a grant from the Government of Japan, and has so far received
822, 510 doses.
Under the agreement
on the purchase of vaccine, total 1,124,370 doses of COVID-19 vaccines being
provided in the third quarter of this year in Mongolia. The remaining doses of
vaccines will be allocated by the end of September as scheduled.
Vaccination campaigns
for children aged 12-17 will continue on a voluntary basis as well as the
permission of parents and guardians in connection with the upcoming academic
year.
