Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On August 24, Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene held a meeting with citizens of Tuv aimag. During the meeting, the Prime Minister introduced the current works and measures being implemented by the Government of Mongolia.

“One of the main strategic objectives of the current Government is the development of Khushig Valley. Thus, as the Prime Minister, I will be giving special attention to matters regarding Tuv aimag. To put it simply, we aim to develop Khushig Valley to the level of Ulaanbaatar. In terms of regional development policies, the government will consider Tuv aimag on the same level as the capital city. Furthermore, similar works are also planned to be carried out in the aimags of Darkhan-Uul, Orkhon, Dornogobi, and Umnugobi,” highlighted Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene.

Studies show that traffic congestion in the capital city has reached a point where vehicles are only able to travel at a speed of 8 km/h during rush hour. Despite the city’s road network having the capacity to allow entry for 300 thousand vehicles at a speed of 25 km/h, over 500 thousand vehicles currently use the roads.

In aims of reducing traffic in the capital city, the Prime Minister has paid special attention to the matter, establishing a working group in charge. Works are underway to resolve the issue regarding infrastructure between the capital city and satellite cities in phases, he noted.

Alongside the Prime Minister, Minister of Construction and Urban Development B.Munkhbaatar and MPs elected from the aimag were present during the meeting.
