Prime Ministers Policy Council to be established
PoliticsUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On November 2, Prime Minister
of Mongolia L.Oyun-Erdene received former Prime Ministers of Mongolia.
At the invitation of Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene former Prime Ministers N.Enkhbayar and Ts.Elbegdorj, Sh.Gungaadorj, M.Enkhsaikhan, M.Enkhbold, S.Bayar, S.Batbold, N. Altankhuyag
and J.Erdenebat took part in the meeting.
Providing the
information in detail on the socio-economic situation during the coronavirus
pandemic, Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene introduced the issues concerning protecting
the health of the people, intensifying economic recovery amid the pandemic, and reducing its
restrictive factors. In turn, former Prime Ministers shared their experiences related to specific situations, the problems they faced and the decisions
and policies they made. They, furthermore, discussed timely issues such
as Oyu-Tolgoi and inflation.
Prime Ministers concurred that in the difficult economic situations caused by the pandemic, solidarity and stability are important and it is necessary to increase the citizens participation in decision making and supporting private sector. PM Oyun-Erdene and the former PMs agreed to establish Prime Ministers Policy Council, which will provide professional and methodological support and recommendations to the Prime Minister based on research and analysis on social and economic situation to ensure the continuity of the policies the Government of Mongolia, and implement Mongolia's long-term development policy.
Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene will lead the policy council, and former Prime Minister J.Erdenebat will work as a deputy chairman.
