Mongolian delegation participates in 8th Forum on Criminal Justice for Central Asia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Judge of the Supreme Court of Mongolia B.Battseren participated in the 8th Expert Forum on Criminal Justice for Central Asia on November 25-26 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.


The forum was co-organized by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, UN Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights, OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan with aims to exchange experiences and information on the ongoing reforms in the field of criminal law in the direction of protecting human rights and strengthening justice, the challenges faced and ways to address them.



During the forum, judge of the Supreme Court of Mongolia B.Battseren presented the measures being taken by the Mongolian judiciary to reduce the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, a report on the reform of the criminal law in Mongolia, the revised Law on Jurisdictions and its implementation was discussed at the forum.


In addition, he visited the Tashkent Criminal Court of First Instance and got acquainted with the development of virtual court proceedings during the pandemic.
