WHO hands over equipment essential for prevention of cardiovascular diseases
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Within the framework
of the MonPEN project, the World Health Organization (WHO) has handed over to the
Ministry of Health 11 types of equipment worth over MNT 630 million, essential for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases and
cardiovascular diseases.
The handover ceremony was attended by Dr
Enkhbold Sereejav, Minister of Health, Dr Sergey Diorditsa, WHO Representative
to Mongolia, and representatives of Dundgobi aimag, Darkhan-Uul aimag and
Songinokhairkhan district health department.
The number of patients with non-infectious diseases have been rapidly increasing worldwide due to improper lifestyle, lack of physical activity and use of alcohol and tobacco, adversely affecting socio-economic development and public health.
