Mongolian studies at Charles University discussed

of Mongolia to the Czech Republic D.Gansukh met with Professor of Department of
South and Central Asia at Charles University of Czechia, Mongolist Veronika Kapišovská on
December 7 to discuss Mongolian studies at the university and other cooperation
issues. The Ambassador emphasized that the government of Mongolia is giving
increased focus to promoting Mongolian studies and discussed the department’s
plans for 2022.
The Professor informed
Ambassador D.Gansukh that the department plans to publish the ‘Mongolica
Pragensia’ academic journal, organize an international conference, and put on a
photo exhibition on a particular period in the history of Mongolia and asked
the Mongolian side to provide some support.
The Charles University department’s
Mongolian studies division conducts research on Mongolian history, statehood,
religion, and culture with four professors and around 20 undergraduate and
graduate students, five of whom are pursuing a doctoral degree.
‘Mongolica Pragensia’ is the
only academic journal that mainly focuses on Mongolian studies outside Asia.
