National Science and Technology Council convenes

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The National Science and Technology Council held its first meeting for 2022 on January 25. The composition of National Council for Science and Technology has been updated by involving representatives from the private sector, research institutions and universities.
At the meeting headed by the
Minister of Education and Science L.Enkh-Amgalan,
the science and technology sector
reform, activities to be implemented in 2022, as well as the operational report
of the National Council and the Science and Technology Foundation for 2021, and
next year's work plans were presented.
There is a need to increase the
investment for science and technology sector as it accounts for only 0.16
percent of GDP which is very low performance compared to that of developed
countries.
This
year, the Ministry of Education and
Science aims to improve and reform the legal environment in the
field of science and technology, strengthen human resources, diversify
research works, increase funding and investment, support employees' social
welfare, expand cooperation, increase sector's value and make an e-transition.
