Total revenue of general government budget increased by 42.4 percent compared to previous year

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. According to the preliminary results January of the of 2022, the total revenue of the general government budget was MNT 1.0 trillion, increased by MNT 301.5 billion (42.4 percent) compared to the same period of previous year. The equilibrated revenue of the general government budget was MNT 946.4 billion increased by MNT 280.4 (42.1 percent) billion compared to the same period of previous year.


On the other hand, the total expenditure and net lending was MNT 1.3 trillion in January of 2022, resulting in deficit of MNT 358.3 billion increased by MNT 239.8 (three-fold) billion compared to the same period of previous year.


In January 2022, the total equilibrated revenue and grants of general government budget was MNT 946.4 trillion, decreased by MNT 68.9 billion (6.8 percent) compared to the previous month. The total expenditure and net lending were MNT 1.3 trillion, increased by MNT 732.1 billion (35.9 percent) compared to the previous month. 


In January of 2022, tax revenue increased by 3.9 percentage points, stabilization fund revenue increased by 3.5 percentage points and while non-tax revenue decreased by 4.1 percentage points and the future heritage fund revenue decreased by 3.3 percentage points compared to the same period of previous year.  In January 2022, tax revenue reached MNT 900.0 billion, increased by MNT 295.7 billion (48.9 percent) compared to the same period of previous year. This increase was mainly due to MNT 154.9 billion (3.2 times) increase in other taxes revenue, MNT 73.5 billion (60.0 percent) increase in social security revenue, MNT 40.2 billion (23.7 percent) increase in value added tax revenue, MNT 16.3 billion (26.9 percent) increase in foreign activity revenue.


In January 2022, other taxes revenue increased by 13.5 percentage points, social security revenue increased by 1.5 percentage points while income taxes revenue decreased by 6.8 percentage points, value added tax revenue decreased by 4.7 percentage points, excise taxes revenue decreased by 1.9 percentage points and foreign activity revenues decreased by 1.5 percentage points compared to the same period of previous year. 


In January 2022, general government budget expenditure and net lending was MNT 1.3 trillion, increased by MNT 520.2 billion (66.3 percent) compared to the same period of previous year.  This increase was primarily affected by MNT 429.9 billion (62.1 percent) increase in current expenditure compared to the same period of previous year.
