Healthcare clinics working on extended hours

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At the
Cabinet’s meeting on March 16, Minister of Health S.Enkhbold gave a report on
measures to take during flu outbreaks.
Flu and other seasonal illness
rates are at varying levels across the capital city, while the rates are on the
rise in Darkhan-Uul, Dornogobi, Dundgobi, Umnugobi, Uvs, and Khentii aimags.
The Health Minister reported
that efforts are being made to devise an action plan based on the rates and
make changes to daily operations of hospital units with special emphasis put on
the sufficiency of medical devices and the workforce.
Specifically, in the capital city, 755 additional beds have been made available for children. Due to high rates of respiratory diseases in children and severe cases, primary healthcare clinics in Ulaanbaatar and aimags are working from 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays, children’s wards at healthcare centers from 8:30 AM to 10 PM on weekdays and from 10 AM to 5 PM on Sundays between March 11 and April 1.
