First Meeting of the Joint Commission on Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Set to be Held in August

June 21, 2023 /MONTSAME/. On June 20, Speaker G. Zandanshatar held
official talks with Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the
Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin.
Emphasizing the friendship
between Mongolia and Russia that has passed the test of time, Chairman of the
State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation V.V. Volodin said
that it is important to pay special attention to solving the problems in the
cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
For his side, Speaker G.
Zandanshatar noted that there are still many accumulated problems that have not
been solved for many years, even though the relations and cooperation between
Mongolia and Russia have been expanding, opening up new opportunities.
Following the meeting, Chairman
of the State Great Khural G. Zandanshatar and Chairman of the State Duma of the
Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation V.V. Volodin signed a document to
regulate the operation of the “Joint Commission on Inter-Parliamentary
Cooperation”, confirming the establishment of the Commission. The Parties
agreed to organize the first meeting of the “Joint Commission on
Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation” in August, 2023 in Ulaanbaatar and tasked line
officials to arrange the preparatory works.
As part of the Official Visit, Speaker G. Zandanshatar laid flowers to the monument "Horses Striving for Victory" in Alexander Park and attended the opening ceremony of the “Embassy Library” in the Embassy of Mongolia in Moscow. The “Embassy Library” will be open to Mongolian youth studying and working in Moscow, Russian citizens interested in Mongolian history and culture, and the general public. The library consists of a museum corner that presents the 101-year history of the Embassy, a book fund with about 1700 books, a reading room and a training room.
