Ulaanbaatar, October 17, 2023 /MONTSAME/. The six best project proposals with innovative digital solutions from Mongolia were selected for the international women-led business project.

On October 14, 2023, the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mongolia hosted a meeting to introduce the Promoting and Upscaling Digital Solutions for Enhancing Women Enterprise Growth and Resilience Program.

Six Mongolian companies that offer outsourcing services to mothers were selected.

The International Women's Federation of Commerce and Industry Mongolia (IWFCI Mongolia) is implementing the Promoting and Upscaling Digital Solutions for Enhancing Women Enterprise Growth and Resilience Program, funded by the Women Entrepreneur Growth Fund, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.

The following are selected six project proposals:

• Clubi, a comprehensive system of training and club activities using mobile applications and websites,

• Gerege Smart POS system and social trading website

• Social Trading Web “Shopstagram,”

• "iGeree" website that offers professional legal services for drafting contracts and documents,

• "eClinic" system of pharmacy operations,

• "Momade" application, a remote support outsourcing service for mothers.

Six Mongolian IT companies, including Clubi and Momade, have been successfully implementing e-commerce solution projects funded by the UN Women Entrepreneur Growth Fund to support women-owned businesses.

The Meeting presented the results of the implementation of the abovementioned projects, and six grantees shared their experiences. The Chief of Innovation, Enterprise, and Investment, ESCAP, Jonathan Wong, the Catalyzing Women Entrepreneurship Partnerships Specialist, ESCAP, Sara D'Anzeo, and the Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Mongolia Hannes Takacs, attended the Meeting at the invitation of IWFCI Mongolia.

"The results and impact of the projects were remarkable. Although Mongolia is not one of the target countries for our organization's women-owned business projects, given IWFCI Mongolia's commitment and hard work, implementing the pilot program was the right decision. We see the possibility of continuing our program in Mongolia next year," said Jonathan Wong, the Chief of Innovation, Enterprise, and Investment, ESCAP.

O. Baigali, Director of IWFCI Mongolia, noted that "For the first time in Mongolia, we have implemented a program aimed at revitalizing, expanding, and supporting the growth of women-owned businesses. We have partnered with six selected projects, providing non-refundable grants of 200 million tugriks to organize training and mentoring and make them publicly recognized. Participants in all six projects worked together as a team, going beyond developing the technological solutions they were striving for to expand cooperation on mutually beneficial terms." Specifically, the Clubi and Momade projects jointly organized trading and marketing training for their clients and participated in the ICT Expo 2023.
