State Commission on Rehabilitation Joins Democracy, Human Rights, and Peace Network
SocietyGwangju, Republic of Korea, November 24, 2023 /MONTSAME. The State Commission on Rehabilitation of Mongolia (SCR) joined the Democracy, Human Rights, and Peace Network during its meeting organized by the Asia Cultural Center (ACC) on November 23, 2023.
The Meeting of Representatives of the Democracy, Human
Rights, and Peace Network was held in Gwangju City, South Korea, which is
considered the cradle of democracy.
The Network will provide opportunities to exchange experiences
and best practices of countries with similar histories of repression targeted
to educate people, tell the story about the repression in Mongolia to Asian
countries, and implement joint projects and events.
During the Meeting, organized for the 4th time, the
representatives and officials from countries with similar histories of
repression including Bangladesh, Vietnam, Thailand, Mongolia, and South Korea
exchanged views and expressed their positions and opinions on actions for ensuring
democracy, human rights and peace.
Considering the significance of the May 18th Democratic
Movement of Students in Gwangju in human rights and peace as its point of
departure, the Democracy, Human Rights, and Peace Network aims to establish a Gwangju
democracy network and platform by 2030.
