Arkhangai Aimag Expects 100,000 Tourists in 2024

Ulaanbaatar, November 28, 2023 /MONTSAME. Arkhangai aimag aims to welcome 100,000 tourists in 2024 and based on its geographical characteristics the Aimag has developed and scheduled multiple events throughout the year. The events and the "One Tourist - One Goat" project were presented to Bat-Erdene Bat-Ulzii, Minister of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia, and representatives of the Mongolian Tourism Association.

 

Starting in January 2024, Arkhangai aimag will organize more than ten sports and art events under the slogan "Non-stop Winterland", including "Khangain Khasar", "Pacer Horse Racing", "Winter Decoration", "Ice Wall Climbing" and "Yak Festival and the launching of the Sleigh Sports Club.. To support winter tourism an ice stadium is also planned to be built, introducing heated eco-sanitary facilities.

 

Minister B. Bat-Erdene acclaimed efforts of the Arkhangai aimag for taking the initiative and leadership to develop community-based tourism as part of the Government's decision "Years to visit Mongolia." Minister B. Bat-Erdene asked the aimag authorities to improve the "One Tourist, One Goat" project and provide tourists with concise information to avoid unforeseen problems. The Minister pledged that the Ministry of Environment and Tourism will support local tourism events, and pay attention to the improvement of intersectoral coordination.
