Autumn Session of State Great Khural of Mongolia Closes

/MONTSAME/. The autumn session of the State
Great Khural closed on January 17, lasting for 75 working days.
The parliament passed 224 laws and
62 resolutions during the session. These include Laws on the Amendments to the
Law on Child Protection, the State Austerity Law, the Law on Debt Management, and
the Law on Amendments to the revised Law on Railway Transport. Additionally,
the Laws on amendments to the Civil Aviation Law (revised), amendments to the
Law on Criminal Procedure, amendments to the Law on Civil Procedure, and the
Law on Organic Products, along with the accompanying laws, were approved.
In his remarks for the closing autumn
session, Chairman of the State Great Khural Zandanshatar Gombojav stated: “The
entire autumn session was a reform session. The State Great Khural has achieved
its goals, ensuring the people's right to rule, strengthening representative
democracy, and transforming into a “3D” parliament—a democratic, electronic
institution that consults with the people. The parliament formed through the
8th elections of State Great Khural has prioritized political stability and
directed its efforts toward creating favorable working conditions for the
government. While there have been many positive results, some issues still need
attention. Changing the way blame for mistakes in every issue is attributed to
the State Great Khural, ranging from approving the national budget to the
stalling of major projects, will align with the principles of justice and a
balanced governance relationship.
Every government official should be mindful not to weaken the immunity of the Parliament. The year of the important elections has started, which will revive constitutional amendments and adopt major changes to the system.
The Speaker called on the MPs to meet
the challenges of society and time and be a leader in every action and deed.
