New Project to Prepare National Gender Experts Launched

the “Strengthening National Capacity for Ensuring Gender Equality in Mongolia”
project has been launched in Novotel Hotel.

and Head of Delegation of the European Union to Mongolia Ms. Axelle
Nicaise said “This new project will be implemented jointly with the United
Nations Population Fund and the National Committee on Gender of Mongolia. The
project’s goal is to prepare the national experts in charge of gender issues.
Thus,
the existing expert team working in Mongolia will be enlarged, as national gender
experts are to be prepared for 21 aimags, and through the trained gender experts
the Project aims at strengthening the capacity of specialists at the corresponding
Ministry and in rural areas. Moreover, digital platforms will be developed for sharing
and exchanging information and experiences, and a system upgrade project is planned
to be implemented over two years.
“Currently, nine experts are working under the National Committee on Gender of Mongolia, whose responsibilities are contributing to policy development and ensuring the national expert team is formed in every sector,” said the Secretary of the National Committee on Gender and Head of Secretariat Enkhbayar.
