Mongolian Opera Soloist B. Mongolkhuu Wins Special Prize at International Competition in Azerbaijan

Ulaanbaatar, June 11, 2024 /MONTSAME/. B. Mongolkhuu, a soloist from the Mongolian State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, received the "Prize Hope" (special prize) at the IX International Vocalists Competition named after Byulbyul. The event took place in Baku and Shusha, Azerbaijan, from June 3 to June 9, 2024.


The competition saw the participation of over 150 professional opera singers from 18 countries. Representing Mongolia were soloists L. Buveibaatar and B. Mongolkhuu, along with concertmaster U. Urtnasan from the Mongolian State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet.


Established in 1997 by a decree from President Heydar Aliyev, the Byulbyul International Vocalists Competition honors the legacy of the renowned Azerbaijani tenor, People's Artist of the USSR, and Professor Byulbyul. Since its inception, the competition has become a prestigious event in the international opera community.
